ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Effective date: 18 August 2026
Last updated: 18 August 2026
Our commitment
Norfolk Youth Mentoring is committed to making its website and online information accessible to as many people as possible, including disabled people and people who use assistive technologies.
We want visitors to be able to find information, understand our services, contact us and make an enquiry or referral without unnecessary barriers. We aim to follow recognised accessibility good practice and are working towards meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
Using this website
We aim to make the website clear and straightforward to use. This includes working to ensure that visitors can:
-
zoom in and resize text without losing important content or functionality
-
navigate the website using a keyboard
-
use the website with common screen readers and other assistive technologies
-
understand links, buttons, headings and form labels
-
view content with sufficient colour contrast
-
access meaningful descriptions or text alternatives for important images
-
use the website on different screen sizes, including mobile phones and tablets
UserWay accessibility tools
The website includes the UserWay Accessibility Widget. It provides optional tools that visitors can use to adjust the way the website is displayed or experienced. Depending on the device, browser and widget configuration, these tools may include adjustments to text size, colour contrast, text spacing, readable fonts, cursor visibility, animation and other presentation settings.
The UserWay widget is an additional aid. It does not replace accessible website design, correctly structured content, keyboard support, meaningful alternative text or ongoing manual review. You do not have to use the widget to browse the website or contact Norfolk Youth Mentoring.
Accessibility status
The website has not yet undergone a full independent accessibility audit. We therefore do not currently claim that it fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility is being reviewed as the website is developed and updated.
Known limitations and areas under review
Some parts of the website or linked materials may not yet be fully accessible. Areas being reviewed include:
-
promotional graphics or infographics that contain text within an image
-
downloadable documents or referral materials that may not be fully structured for screen-reader or keyboard use
-
third-party features, forms or embedded content whose accessibility is not wholly controlled by Norfolk Youth Mentoring
-
alternative text, heading order, colour contrast and keyboard navigation across newly added or updated pages
Where important information appears in an image or document, we aim to provide an accessible alternative on request and to improve the source content where reasonably practicable.
Requesting information in another format
If you need website information in a different format, such as accessible Word, large print, plain text or an explanation by telephone, please contact us. Tell us what information you need and the format that would work best for you.
We will consider reasonable adjustments and aim to respond as soon as reasonably possible. The time needed may depend on the nature and complexity of the request.
Reporting an accessibility problem
If you cannot access part of the website, encounter a barrier or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, please contact:
Jack Starling
Founder & Lead Mentor, Norfolk Youth Mentoring
Email: Jack@norfolkyouthmentoring.com
Telephone: 07368 345796
Please include the web address of the page or document, a brief description of the problem, the device or assistive technology you were using if relevant, and the best way to contact you. We will investigate the issue and aim to provide the information or service in an accessible way.
Technical information
Norfolk Youth Mentoring is responsible for the accessibility of this website. The site is built using Wix and includes third-party services, including the UserWay Accessibility Widget. We will take reasonable steps to improve accessibility within the controls available to us and will raise relevant issues with third-party providers where necessary.
How this statement was prepared
This statement was prepared on 18 August 2026 using a review of the website content and supplied materials. It has not yet been supported by a full independent WCAG audit. We intend to review this statement when significant website changes are made, when testing identifies new issues, or at least once every 12 months.
Further information
WCAG 2.2 is an international accessibility standard published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). UK service providers also have duties to consider reasonable adjustments for disabled people under the Equality Act 2010.
